Bruce Lee: The philosopher and poet

A R T L▼R K

On the 27th of November 1940, Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco’s Chinatown, US. Mostly known for his acting career and his masterful martial arts roles in such movies as The Big Boss(1971), Fist of Fury (1972), Way of the Dragon (1972),Enter the Dragon (1973) and The Game of Death(1973), Lee should be also remembered for his passionate approach to philosophy, art and poetry. All of these trails became important elements of his own life philosophy, which he summarised as follows: “Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot… Be water, my friend.”
